Jammu Markets Adorned with Mungfali, Gachak & Khajoor Ahead of Lohri Celebrations

Jammu, Jan 12: The vibrant and lively spirit of Lohri has taken over the markets in Jammu, as shopkeepers deck their stalls with colorful displays of Mungfali (peanuts), Gachak (sesame seed and jaggery brittle), and Khajoor (dates) to mark the festive occasion.
The streets are adorned with festive lights and traditional decorations, creating a festive ambiance that resonates with the joyous celebration of Lohri. Locals and visitors alike are immersing themselves in the festive atmosphere, with families thronging the markets to indulge in the customary shopping spree associated with the festival.
Shopkeepers and vendors are showcasing a variety of Mungfali, Gachak, and Khajoor, offering a wide array of choices. The sweet aroma of freshly prepared Gachak is wafting through the air, enticing passersby to partake in the traditional treats synonymous with Lohri festivities.
“We take pride in decorating our stalls with the best quality Mungfali, Gachak, and Khajoor. The response from customers has been overwhelming, and the festive cheer is contagious,” says Rajesh Kumar, a local vendor.
As families prepare for the bonfires and customary Lohri celebrations, the markets of Jammu are contributing to the sense of community and togetherness that defines the festival.
