Deputy Commissioner Kulgam Athar Aamir Khan Leads Strategic Meeting for Panchayat Electoral Roll Revision in Kulgam District

Srinagar, Jan 15: Athar Aamir Khan, Deputy Commissioner and District Panchayat Election Officer Kulgam, chaired a meeting at the mini-secretariat in Kulgam. The purpose was to review the arrangements and preparations made for the successful revision of the Panchayat Electoral Roll in the district.
In line with State Election Commission guidelines, the DPEO issued instructions for the revision with a qualifying date of 01.01.2024. He emphasized that field staff, including PEBOs who are VLWs/MPWs/GRS, should visit households to collect forms from eligible inhabitants aged 18 and above who are not yet enrolled in the Panchayat electoral roll.
Furthermore, the DPEO directed EROs/AEROs and BDOs to monitor the progress of PEBOs during the revision period and ensure widespread publicity of the Panchayat electoral roll in all panchayats.
