Kulgam Police Seizes Property of Infamous Drug Peddler

Srinagar, Feb 06: In an ongoing crackdown on drug peddlers, Kulgam Police has confiscated a two-storied residential house owned by a notorious drug peddler identified as Khursheed Ahmad Bhat, son of Mohd Ismail Bhat, a resident of Sopat Devsar, under section 68-F of the NDPS Act 1985.
Bhat has been implicated in multiple NDPS cases, including FIR No. 63/2019 under sections 8/15, 20 of the NDPS Act, FIR No. 11/2021 under sections 8/20, 29 of the NDPS Act, and FIR No. 31/2021 under sections 8/20, 22 of the NDPS Act at the police station Devsar.
The property, identified as unlawfully acquired during police investigations, is believed to have been obtained through the illicit trafficking of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances.
Bhat is presently detained at Kote-Bhalwal Jammu under the PIT-NDPS Act. This seizure underscores the Police’s commitment to combating the drug menace, with local residents applauding the initiative to confiscate properties linked to the illicit drug trade in Kulgam district.
