Private schools in Anantnag directed to adhere to Govt guidelines

Srinagar Dec 13 (KINS): Chief Education Officer (CEO) Anantnag has issued a circular instructing private schools in the district to strictly comply with government directives regarding fee structures, curriculum, and other activities.
The move follows reports of some schools violating these guidelines and implementing their own bylaws, contrary to the established rules.
According to news agency KINS, the government has directed that private schools are barred from charging any additional fees, including admission fees or donations, as per the Right to Education Act, 2009.
Schools found to have collected such fees must refund them to the concerned parents or guardians.
Private schools are instructed not to sell books or other materials through their tuck shops or on school premises.
“All private schools must adhere to the common curriculum outlined in the New Education Policy (NEP) 2020. Conducting winter coaching classes within school premises is strictly prohibited. Violations will be dealt with sternly.”
The CEO has warned that non-compliance with these instructions will result in strict action, including the possible cancellation of the school’s recognition or affiliation without prior notice. (KINS)
