Baramulla, Apr 25 (KINS): Education and Health Minister Sakina Itoo on Saturday said the Omar Abdullah-led government is working to develop infrastructure in the health and education sectors.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a function in Baramulla, Sakina Itoo highlighted key initiatives in the healthcare sector. “Since the formation of Omar Abdullah’s government, 509 doctors have been recruited and moslyly posted in far-flung areas. Equipment is being installed in hospitals, including cath labs and MRI machines, and dialysis facilities have been set up even in district and sub-district hospitals,” she said, according to news agency Kashmir Indepth News Service (KINS).
Acknowledging gaps in the education sector, she stated that vacancies for Zonal Education Officers (ZEOs) and principals have persisted due to a long period without major recruitments. “We are initiating new recruitments, and vacant posts are being referred to recruitment agencies,” she said.
The minister also stated that 64 posts have recently been sent to the recruitment board for the new block of Barazulla Hospital. (KINS)
