Samsung Launches Fifth Edition of ‘Solve for Tomorrow’ Innovation Programme in India

New Delhi, May 11: Samsung Electronics on Thursday announced the launch of the fifth edition of its flagship innovation and education programme, “Samsung Solve for Tomorrow”, aimed at encouraging young innovators across India to develop technology-based solutions for real-world challenges.

The programme, launched as part of Samsung’s 30-year presence in India, will provide incubation grants worth ₹2 crore to the top four winning teams. The selected teams will receive incubation support at Indian Institute of Technology Delhi to help scale and further develop their ideas.

The company said the 2026 edition of the programme is open to students aged between 14 and 22 years, with applications accepted from May 7 to July 3, 2026.

Participants have been invited to submit ideas under four themes — AI Living for India, Health & Education, Environmental Sustainability, and Sport & Tech.

According to Samsung, the six-month programme will include prototyping support, investor interactions, expert mentorship, workshops and training sessions aimed at converting ideas into scalable solutions.

As part of the initiative, the top 20 teams will receive ₹20 lakh each, while the top 40 teams will be awarded ₹8 lakh along with Samsung devices and mentorship support.

JB Park, President and CEO of Samsung Southwest Asia, said the programme reflects the company’s commitment to strengthening India’s innovation ecosystem and supporting youth-led entrepreneurship.

Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India, Ajay Kumar Sood, said initiatives like Solve for Tomorrow help nurture early-stage ideas into scalable innovations.

Director of Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, Rangan Banerjee, said the collaboration would provide students access to mentorship, interdisciplinary research and prototyping support.

Samsung said it will organise 100 design-thinking workshops across schools and colleges in India during the application phase to train participants in ideation and problem-solving.

Following the initial selection process, the top 100 teams will receive online mentoring and training, after which 40 teams will advance to the prototyping and residential bootcamp stage.

Semi-finalists will also visit Samsung research and development centres in Bengaluru, Noida and Delhi for exposure to innovation ecosystems and industry practices.

The company stated that the top 20 teams will participate in investor meetings, mentoring sessions and final pitch presentations before the winners are selected.

Samsung Solve for Tomorrow was first launched in the United States in 2010 and is currently operational in 68 countries, with more than three million young participants worldwide, according to the company.
