Srinagar, Feb 27 (KINS): The government will take a decision on hosting the Khelo India Games in Gulmarg if the snowfall continues for another day, Cabinet Minister Satish Sharma said on Thursday.

Speaking to KINS, Sharma said Kashmir has been witnessing snowfall for the past few days, and if Gulmarg receives three feet of snow, a meeting will be held on Friday to finalize the decision.

“It is good that Kashmir has been receiving snowfall for the last few days. If there is three feet of snow at Gulmarg, we will hold a meeting on Friday to decide on hosting the Khelo India Games,” Sharma said.

He said that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is keen on conducting winter sports in the region.

The Khelo India Games were recently postponed due to inadequate snowfall at Gulmarg, a premier winter sports destination in Jammu and Kashmir. (KINS)
