Police seize 4 Sumo vehicles for ferrying passengers

Anantnag, April 2, : In a bid to discourage those who violate rules of social distancing and flout government orders, police on Thursday seized 4 Sumo vehicles for ferrying passengers in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

A police official told news agency KNT that police station Larnoo area of Kokarnag seized four Sumo vehicles and booked the drivers for violating Prohibitory Orders.

“These drivers were violating government orders and ferrying passengers from Gawaran village to Inshan area,” he added.

The seized Sumo vehicles carry the registration numbers as JK03C-5839, JK03B-0398, JK03D-1373 and JK06-2598.

Police have booked a large number of people and registered scores of cases against the violators. Last week, an FIR was lodged against the 15 people for offering prayers at an Awantipora mosque. (KNT)
