COVID-19: Six Jail inmates releases in Kupwara

Srinagar, April 07: At least six inmates have been released from district jail in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district in view of the emergency situation created by the COVID-19 pandemic compelling the govt for maintaining the social distancing norms.

A police official said that the concerned authorities took the decision in light of the government health advisories for the jails and the requests made by the local community.

The released include those who were detained by the authorities under PSA post-August 05 2019.
