Cyber Police Station Kashmir Zone, Srinagar took cognizance of hatred video posted on social media; FIR registered

April 11: “`Cyber Police Station reliably learnt that one Facebook user has uploaded video clips in which subject is seen addressing general public by using language invoking disaffection against nation. The said videos have been uploaded with the intentions not only to bring hatred and contempt against the Govt established by law but also to outrage feelings of law-abiding citizens besides promoting enmity between different groups. The said activity of the subject is also prejudicial to maintenance of peace and harmony, intended to outrage religious feelings of different section of the people.

Accordingly, FIR No. 07/2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered and investigation is set into motion.

General public is advised not to circulate fake news/hatred on social media platforms. Any person found indulging in such activities will be dealt with strictly under law.“`
