COVID-19 Recovery rate improves to 71.61 per cent in India: Health Ministry

Srinagar, Aug 15 (KINS): The Union Health Ministry said that India registered the highest number of recoveries from COVID-19 in a single day.
According to news agency KINS the health Ministry said that over 57,000 people in the country got cured and returned to their homes in the last 24 hours.


“With this, the cumulative recoveries from COVID-19 in the country inched further closer to touch the two million mark. So far, a total of 18,08,936 people have recovered in the country and with this the nationwide recovery rate has further improved to 71.61 per cent” it said.
“32 States and Union Territories have exceeded the 50 per cent recovery mark whereas 12 States and UTs have recorded a recovery rate higher than the national average of 71.61 per cent. The case fatality rate continues to show steady decline and now stands at 1.94 per cent.
The Health Ministry said, 65,002 new cases of COVID-19 have been registered in the country in the last 24 hours taking the total number of cases to 25,26,193”.
Presently, the total number of active corona cases in the country is 6,68,220. In a single day, 996 deaths have also been reported taking the toll to 49,036.(KINS)
