Sopore Police arrested two drug peddlers and recovered Contraband Substances

Sopore , Oct 21 : In continuation of its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Sopore Police have arrested two drug peddlers and recovered Contraband Substances from their possession.

A police party of Police Station Sopore headed by SHO PS Sopore Insp. Ayaz Gellani under the supervision of SDPO Sopore Shri. Sarfaraz Bashir-JKPS, during naka at Adipora Crossing apprehended two persons namely:
1. Junaid Ahmad Mir S/O Ghulam Hassan Mir and
2. Riyaz Ahmad Parra S/O Mohammad Maqbool Parra both the residents of Adipora Sopore.

During the search Police Party was able to recover 7 grams of contraband Heroine like substance from their possession.

In this regard, case FIR No. 230 under relevant sections of Law has been registered at Police Station Sopore & investigation has been initiated.

Sopore police urges the common masses to give information regarding narcotics or any other crimes to the nearest police establishment or dial 112.

General Public is requested to cooperate with police in curbing the menace of drugs from the society. We reassure the community members that police will act tough against the criminals as per the law.
