Srinagar, Nov 03 (KINS): As the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly prepares for its five-day session starting tomorrow, security measures have been significantly heightened in and around the Assembly complex and throughout Srinagar city.
In anticipation of the assembly session, which will commence with the election of the Speaker and the Governor’s address, authorities are taking no chances with security.
One of the senior officials involved in the security arrangements told news agency KINS, “We are setting the security arrangements and will make elaborate security for the Assembly session, which begins tomorrow. No one will be allowed inside the Assembly complex other than those who have been given passes.”
The session’s schedule includes a series of important discussions and ceremonies.
On November 5, the assembly will hold obituary references, while discussions on the motion of thanks for the Governor’s address are planned for November 6 and 7.
The following day, November 8, will feature discussions on the Lieutenant Governor’s address and a response from the assembly.
To ensure the safety of all participants, a three-tier security system will be implemented around the Assembly complex.
This includes checkpoints where only authorized personnel will be allowed entry. “Extra security will be deployed from Raj Bhawan to the Assembly complex for the address by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha,” noted a senior security official.
The Jammu and Kashmir government has also issued advisory outlining parking regulations during the assembly session.
According to a circular from the General Administration Department, designated parking areas have been established for the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, ministers, and legislators within the Assembly Complex.
Assembly staff will also have specified parking zones. “No private vehicles of officers, officials, or other employees will be allowed to enter the Secretariat premises during the session,” the circular states.(KINS)
