Jammu, Dec 16 (KINS): Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Rajouri, Gourav Sikarwar, said on Monday that the Rajouri police, in coordination with the Army, has seized 5.3 kilograms of contraband heroin-like substance in the forward areas of Nowshera.
During a press conference as per news gathering agency KINS, SSP shared details of recent successful drug busts, including the significant seizure in Nowshera.
“We are investigating the entire drug trafficking network, both its local and wider connections. This is a big win for our team,” he said.
He also mentioned that the fight against drugs is gaining strength, with several arrests and recoveries in recent days.
In addition to the contraband seizure, the police arrested Muhammad Yusuf, son of Muhammad Sadiq, and recovered 7,400 banned tablets from him. Two separate drug recoveries, involving 11 grams and 18 grams of heroin, were also reported.
The Rajouri Police have made significant strides in tackling the drug trade in recent days.
SSP emphasized the importance of public cooperation in the ongoing effort, urging citizens to share any helpful information with law enforcement.
“Our investigation is continuing, and we will keep taking strong action against drug trafficking and abuse,” he assured, calling for joint efforts from both the public and security agencies.(KINS)
