Jammu, Jan 26 (KINS): Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha unfurled the National Flag during the UT-level Republic Day function at MA Stadium this morning, marking the 76th Republic Day celebrations.
The Lieutenant Governor inspected the parade contingents and took the ceremonial salute. The Republic Day Parade featured a range of contingents, including the Army, BSF, CRPF, SSB, IRP (Women & Male), J&K Police, JKAP, UT Disaster Response Force, J&K Fire and Emergency Services, J&K Forest Protection Force, Excise & Taxation Department, Ex-Servicemen, NCC (Boys and Girls), Bharat Scouts and Guides (Girls & Boys), and various school contingents. The parade also showcased brass and pipe bands from the Army, BSF, J&K Police, and school bands.
The tableaux displayed by various departments highlighted the cultural diversity of Jammu and Kashmir, themes like PM-Surya Ghar, Swarnim Bharat Ki Virasat, the Fit India Movement, the War against Drugs, and a captivating motorcycle acrobatic display by JKP dare-devils. Cultural pageantry based on different themes added to the vibrancy of the celebrations.
Earlier in the day, the Lieutenant Governor laid a wreath at the Police Martyrs Memorial and Balidan Stambh to pay tribute to the brave martyrs of the Police, Army, and CAPFs who made the ultimate sacrifice for the nation.(KINS)
