Police hold coordination meeting with Shia Community ahead of Muharram in Baramulla

Srinagar, June 26 (KINS): Ahead of the upcoming Muharram observances, Jammu and Kashmir Police held a coordination meeting with Shia community representatives at Police Post Mirgund in Baramulla district to ensure peaceful conduct of religious events.

The meeting was chaired by SDPO Pattan, Shahjahan Chowdhury (JKPS), and attended by the SHO of Police Station Pattan and Incharge PP Mirgund. During the interaction, community members raised several concerns, notably the shortage of water in certain areas. Police assured that the matter would be taken up with the concerned departments.

Officials emphasized maintaining public order and communal harmony, advising community members to refrain from displaying flags or banners of banned organizations. The representatives pledged full cooperation and reaffirmed their commitment to a peaceful observance of Muharram.

J&K Police reiterated their dedication to facilitating religious activities in a secure and coordinated manner.(KINS)
