Man dead, another injured after hit by Army vehicle in Batwara Srinagar, police resort teargas shelling to disperse protestors

Srinagar Oct 14: Protests broke out in Srinagar’s Batwara Sonawar area after a man died and another injured after hit by an army vehicle. 

Eye witnesses told news agency  Kashmir Indepth News Service (KINS) that a 50-year-old man who was riding scooty with registration number JKOIAD-0992 was hit by army vehicle in Batwara area. 
“He died on the spot and another person received injuries. Following which people came out on the road and held protests and seeking action against the accused,” they said. After which police reached on the spot and tried to pacify the protestors. As people did not leave the road, police resort to Lathi charge and teargas shells to disperse protestors. 

The injured man has been identified as Abdul Hameed Mir son of Maqsood Ahmad resident of Zewan and has been shifted to SMHS hospital for treatment.
