Train service on Srinagar-Banihal track suspended for second day

 

Sringar: The train services on Srinagar-Banihal track remained suspended for the second consecutive day on Saturday due to security reasons.
However, the train shall run normally on the Srinagar-Baramulla track.

On Friday following a gunfight in south Kashmir’s Shopian village train services were suspended on the Srinagar-Banihal track. In the gunfight three militants including top commander of Hizbul Mujahidin Lateef tiger were killed.

According to reports  the train service was suspended on Budgam-Srinagar-Anantnag-Qazigund and Banihal in Jammu region route on Friday from 1000 hrs following an advisory received from police. A fresh advisory was received last night not to resume the service on this route today also, he said.
