Weather likely to improve from today in Valley: Met

The weather is likely to improve on Tuesday after days of wet weather, said an official from Meteorological department Kashmir.

An official said that weather is likely to improve in from today afternoon. Dry weather is expected to continue till January 11.

The minimum temperatures improved across Jammu and Kashmir because of the snowfall bringing in some respite from the severe cold wave.

Srinagar, the summer capital of the state recorded a low of minus 0.5 while the mercury in Qazigund in south Kashmir settled at a low of minus 1.3 degrees Celsius.

The night temperature in Pahalgam settled at a low of minus 3.9 degrees while Gulmarg minus 6.0 degree Celsius.

Leh town recorded minus 11.0 degree Celsius as the minimum temperatures.

Kokernag town recorded a low of minus 4.5 degrees Celsius while Kupwara town in north Kashmir registered a low of 1.2 degrees Celsius last night.

Jammu recorded a low of 9.0 degrees Celsius while Batote recorded minus 2.3, Banihal recorded minus 0.2, and Bhaderwah recorded minus 0.3 degree Celsius.
