Commissioner Secretary I&C chairs meeting, Directs for clearance of outstanding payments to MSMEs, other suppliers by 15th of May

Srinagar, May 06 (KINS):  The Commissioner Secretary, Industries & Commerce, Manoj Kumar Dwivedi Wednesday directed all the concerned departments to clear the outstanding payments of MSMEs and other suppliers.

According to a statement issued to news agency KINS, commissioner secretary chaired a high level meeting regarding the clearing of the outstanding payments on account of supply of cement, iron, steel, furniture, bitumen, tiles, crates and other supplies.

Senior officers of PHE, I& C, PWD (R&B), Department of Rural Development & PR, Finance Department and Planning Dev, and Monitoring Department were present in the meeting.

The statement reads that the commissioner secretary impressed upon the officers that the outstanding of supplies made by JK Cements, SICOP/MSMEs and others are pending with the departments from last several years.  “The outstanding was reviewed by Lieutenant Governor and instructed for payment by all the departments by 15 th of May 2020. The progress on this account shall be reviewed on daily basis starting with the Departments which are having considerable major outstanding”

“In some cases, the delay is more than 2-3 years which was viewed very seriously and it was impressed upon all the departments to hold HODs and DDOs personally responsible for these delays. Commissioner/Secretary further insisted upon daily reporting of the payments cleared by the Departments and also to evolve work culture within the Departments where officials are held accountable and mechanism is put in place for clearance of outstanding payments without delays. The meeting, among others, was also attended by Director Finance, I&C, MD SICOP, Atul Sharma. (KINS)
