Gandhi Jayanti: DIPR Jammu hosts Photo Exhibition depicting different shades of Bapu’s life

JAMMU, OCT 02 ( KINS): Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) today organised a photo exhibition here at Media Complex to mark the birth anniversary of Father of Nation, Mahatma Gandhi.The exhibition was inaugurated by Joint Director Information Jammu, Namrita Dogra.

As many as 50 pictures related to Mahatma Gandhi’s life and achievements that include his life as an advocate, his participation in the Indian freedom struggle and mass movements and the activities at Sabarmati Ashram were displayed.

Speaking on the occasion, Joint Director Information said that the principles of peace and non-violence advocated by Gandhiji were relevant for all times. She said that the entire world cherishes and follows the philosophy of truth, unity and harmony of our father of the nation.

Namrita said that on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, multiple events like campaigns, seminars, debates, rallies, poster making competitions are organised in every nook and corner of the country. She lauded the efforts of Exhibition Wing of the Department for displaying a beautiful collection of pictures reflecting different shades of the life of Bapu Ji.

Deputy Director Information (PR) Jammu, Gul Hussain Kraipak, Field Publicity Officer Jammu, Mukesh Kumar Sharma and all the officials of the department were present on the occasion.

The artists of the Cultural Wing of the Department of Information and Public Relations also presented a cultural programme. (KINS)
