Srinagar freezes at -4.1°C, coldest night of season

Srinagar, Dec 6 (KINS): Kashmir valley experienced a further dip in temperatures on Friday, with Srinagar recording the season’s coldest night at -4.1°C.

The weather department has forecast dry conditions in the plains until December 14, with light rain and snow expected in the higher reaches.

South Kashmir’s Shopian recorded the lowest temperature in the valley at -6.6°C, while the popular ski resorts of Pahalgam and Gulmarg registered -6.5°C and -4.3°C, respectively.

Qazigund, the gateway town to Kashmir, recorded a minimum of -4.4°C, while Kupwara in north Kashmir registered -3.4°C. Kokernag, a favored picnic destination in south Kashmir, saw temperatures drop to -2.4°C.
