Food Safety inspection drive conducted in Srinagar
Srinagar Feb 19 (KINS): The Food Safety team of the Drug and Food Control Organisation in Srinagar conducted inspections at Parimpora Market and Fruit Mandi Parimpora. Led by Assistant Commissioner Food Safety Srinagar Yameen Ul Nabi along with Food safety officer Fayaz Ahmad Bhat and Hakeem Adil Rashid , the team found 10 food business operators violating sanitary and hygiene standards. These operators were fined under Section 69.

As Ramadan approaches, the department is increasing inspections to ensure the quality of food, especially dates, dry fruits, and other categories. Food business operators are advised to maintain high standards of hygiene and adhere to the Food Safety and Standards Act.

Consumers can report concerns on the toll-free number 104. The Food Safety Srinagar team is monitoring the market to prevent the sale of unhealthy and expired products.
