Modi govt driving transformational change in Kashmir: Ashok Koul

Srinagar, Dec 17 (KINS): Jammu and Kashmir BJP General Secretary (Organisation) Ashok Koul on Wednesday said that the Modi-led government has ushered in a new era of development, peace, and prosperity in the Kashmir region.

Addressing a large public convention at Patipora Lassipora in Pulwama district, Ashok Koul outlined the BJP’s vision of inclusive growth and lasting peace in Jammu and Kashmir. He was accompanied by BJP State Secretary Mudasir Wani, District President Pulwama Er. Showkat Gayoor, Kisan Morcha leader and programme organiser Arshad Bhat, and senior leader Awataar Singh.

Speaking to the gathering, Ashok Koul said that under the decisive leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Kashmir has witnessed unprecedented development carried out on a mission mode. He said the region has transitioned from an era marked by terrorism and instability to one focused on tourism, infrastructure development, youth empowerment, and economic opportunities.

He highlighted major initiatives in tourism promotion, road connectivity, education, healthcare, and employment generation, stating that Kashmir is now hosting international-level sporting events, cultural programmes, and global conferences, showcasing its potential as a destination of peace and progress.

Ashok Koul said the revival of tourism has strengthened the local economy and restored confidence among the youth, who are increasingly choosing sports, innovation, and entrepreneurship over conflict. He added that peace and prosperity are now becoming the defining identity of Kashmir.

Calling for public participation, Koul urged people to actively support development initiatives and send a strong message of peace and harmony to the world. He reaffirmed that the BJP remains committed to implementing welfare schemes for farmers, youth, women, and the underprivileged to ensure that the benefits of development reach every household.(KINS)
