74% candidates appear in SKUAST Jammu CET -2020


JAMMU, OCTOBER 11: Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-J) today conducted Common Entrance Test-2020 (CET) for admission to the UG programmes of B.Sc (Hons.) Agriculture, B. Tech Biotechnology and B.V.Sc & AH for the academic session 2020-2021.
Vice-Chancellor, Prof. J.P. Sharma along with Director Education, Dr S.K.Gupta visited to different centers to oversee the conduct of the entrance examination. Professor J P Sharma appraised that despite Covid-19 pandemic, there has been an overwhelming response for admission to various professional undergraduate programmes in the university.
Out of total 2596 applicants, 1919 including the candidates from other states appeared in the CET-2020 which comes to 74 percent of the total applicants for admission to 212 seats. Besides these, 15 percent seats are reserved for all India quota, admission to which are made by Indian Council of Agricultural Research and Veterinary Council of India. The entrance examination was held at 5 different centers located viz., GGM Science College, Jammu; SPMR, College, Jammu; MAM College, Jammu; Faculty of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry, R S Pura; and Faculty of Agriculture, SKUAST-J, Chatha.
Dr Sushil Kumar Gupta I/C Examination Cell SKUAST-Jammu informed that test was conducted smoothly with appreciable support of the staff and the Principals and Deans of the host institutions.
The SOPs and guidelines related to Covid-19 pandemic were adhered to during the test. The schedule of the counseling and other updates shall be available on the university website www.skuast.org after the declaration of the results of the entrance test.
