Parliament attack anniversary: PM Modi honor ‘martyrs’

Srinagar, Dec 13: Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the Nation in paying heartfelt tributes to the ‘brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives during the infamous Parliament Attack in 2001’.
According to officials on the solemn occasion, PM Modi visited the memorial dedicated to the martyrs, laying wreaths as a mark of respect.
“In a poignant ceremony, the Prime Minister, accompanied by top political leaders military officials, observed a minute of silence to honor the memory of those who valiantly defended the nation’s Parliament from a terrorist assault over two decades ago.
Following the tribute, Prime Minister Modi extended his support to the families of the fallen heroes.
In a gesture of compassion and solidarity, he engaged with the families, expressing gratitude for the sacrifices made by their loved ones. The interactions were emotionally charged, with the Prime Minister assuring the families that the nation remembers and values their sacrifice.

The Parliament Attack on December 13, 2001, was a dark chapter in India’s history, testing the resilience of its democracy. The brave security personnel thwarted the assault, protecting the sanctity of the Parliament and ensuring the safety of elected representatives.

PM Modi’s presence at the memorial and his interactions with the families underscored the government’s commitment to honoring the sacrifices made by the armed forces.
