Tourists enjoy stunning Drang waterfall amid Kashmir’s freezing temperatures

Srinagar, Dec 23 (KINS): While Kashmir faces freezing temperatures in the current winter period, tourists are delighting in the breathtaking beauty of Drang Waterfall in Tangmarg area of North Kashmir.
The temperatures are ranging from minus two to minus nine degrees Celsius in many areas of the Valley.
News agency KINS reported that despite the harsh cold weather, tourists have been flocking to popular spots, with Drang Waterfall being a prominent attraction in the Tangmarg area.
Visitors from across the country have been seen enjoying the natural beauty of the frozen Drang waterfall, taking photographs, and marveling at the crystal-clear frozen water cascading down the rocks.
For many, the subzero temperatures have not deterred them from visiting Kashmir’s famous tourist destinations.
Local guides and tourism officials noted that despite the challenges posed by the harsh weather, the influx of tourists has remained strong this season, as people come to witness the charm of the region’s winter landscape.
Speaking to news agency KINS, a tourist from Delhi, Asha Mehra, said, “We were prepared for the cold, but the beauty of the waterfall and the snow-covered surroundings make it all worthwhile”.
Another visitor said, “It’s a completely different experience compared to visiting Kashmir in other seasons”.
Local vendors in the area have also reported a steady stream of business, selling hot beverages like Kahwa, which tourists have been savoring to beat the cold.
The local administration has ensured that necessary safety measures are in place for tourists braving the cold conditions.
Kashmir’s tourism sector, which has been seeing resurgence over the past few years, has flourished even in the winter months.
Despite the freezing temperatures, the region continues to be a major destination for travelers seeking to experience its snow-clad beauty, making it a popular choice for those seeking an idyllic winter retreat.(KINS)
