Civilian killed, 7 injured in Fresh Ceasefire Violation in Kupwara

Kupwara : A civilian was killed and and seven injured as Pakistani Army indulged in heavy cross border firing targeting Indian positions and civilian areas along the Line of Control (LoC) in Machil sector of Niorth Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Tuesday night.

Reports reaching said “Pakistani army targeted the Indian Army posts and civilian areas along the LoC in Machil sector with heavy arms, automatic and mortars during Tuesday night.

Official reports said that the army was retaliating strongly and effectively to the ceasefire violation.

One civilian was killed in the firing, while seven civilians including four children were injured a senior police officer confirmed to this reporter.

The officer identified deceased as Mohammad Yousuf Khan (50) of Thali Dudi while the injured civilians were identified as Shaban Khan (60) , Ghulam Mohamamd Khan , Uzair Ahmed Khan (6) , Tariq Ahmed Khan (9), Muneer Ahmed Khan (8), Aqib Khan (10 ) and one girl Nayeema Bano (7).

Pertainally last week two soldiers and a civilian were killed in ceasefire violation in Tanghar sector of Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
