Indian Army Intensifies Search for Missing Soldier Amid Joint Anti-Terror Operation in Kazwan Forest

Srinagar , Oct 9 : Indian Army, along with the Jammu and Kashmir Police and other agencies, launched a joint counter-terrorist operation in the Kazwan Forest of Kokernag. The operation, based on intelligence inputs, is aimed at neutralizing terrorist activity in the region.

The operation, named “OP KOKERNAG,” continued overnight after one soldier from the Territorial Army went missing. The Chinar Corps-Indian Army provided updates via social media, confirming that a massive search and rescue mission is currently underway to locate the missing soldier.

Sources earlier reported that two Territorial Army soldiers were allegedly abducted by terrorists in Anantnag, with one managing to escape. Security forces are actively conducting search operations to rescue the second soldier.

This incident comes shortly after a successful anti-terrorist operation in Kupwara on October 5, where two terrorists were neutralized, and a large cache of arms and supplies was recovered. Security forces remain on high alert as operations continue across the region.
