MEDICAL CAMP IN URI FROM 08-10 DECEMBER 2025

Srinagar, Dec 10: In a continued and heartfelt effort to serve, support and uplift the border communities of Jammu & Kashmir, the Kalapahar and Pir Panjal Brigades organised a comprehensive three-day Medical Camp across the villages of Salamabad, Nambla and Gingal from 08 to 10 December 2025. A highly dedicated medical team comprising 08 civilian specialist doctors and five Indian Army Medical Officers formed the backbone of this effort.
Over the course of three days, the camp witnessed over 1,350 civilians from all three villages and neighbouring hamlets eagerly participating and benefitting from the services offered. The presence of specialist doctors allowed for focused care – orthopaedic cases such as joint pain, old fractures and mobility issues received proper evaluation; gynaecological consultations provided vital support to women’s health; dermatological conditions common in harsh climatic zones were addressed and paediatric concerns received careful attention.
The residents of Salamabad, Nambla and Gingal expressed profound gratitude for this outreach initiative. Initiatives like this Medical Camp go far beyond their immediate purpose. They strengthen the bond of trust, cooperation and mutual respect between the Indian Army and the local populace. The Chinar Corps of Indian Army, while steadfast in its primary duty of safeguarding the nation’s borders and ensuring peace in Kashmir Valley, continues to play an active role in Nation-Building, community development and humanitarian assistance. Through programs involving education, health, infrastructure development, disaster relief and youth engagement the Indian Army has consistently demonstrated its commitment to the holistic upliftment of remote communities.
